PENCON Fall Retreat – North Carolina

Gather with other seasoned professionals and aspiring editors at the PENCON Fall Retreat North Carolina. This overnight educational and networking event will be held at the historic Lambuth Inn on the grounds of the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center in western North Carolina.

PENCON Fall Retreat – Mount Hermon

November 5–7

Gather with aspiring and established editors as well as others in the writing and publishing community at the Christian Writers Retreat at Mount Hermon, California (near Santa Cruz). Technically a writers retreat, this weekend event is open to everyone in the writing and publishing community, including freelance editors. The event will focus on spiritual refreshment and restoration, making a deep and powerful connection with God, and connecting with kindred spirits (and potential editing clients).

PENCON-specific activities will be scheduled based on interests expressed by attendees. Email PENCON Director Denise Loock (director@PENCONeditors.com) to suggest ideas.

Meet our 2022 keynote speaker, James Watkins!

Jim is a writer and editor saved by grace. That’s what’s most important—not that his 20 books or over 2,500 articles have won numerous national awards, or that he has worked as a magazine and book editor since his sophomore year in college, or even that he taught writing for fifteen years at Taylor University. And it’s not important that he’s spoken around the world in churches, colleges, and conferences. What is important is that he loves God, his family, writing, mentoring writers, and Chinese food—in that order.
